Pastor of Spiritual Formation, Alyssa joined the BCN staff in November 2013 as the Director of Creative Arts in Youth ministry.
As a freshman at Wright State University, Alyssa’s first encounter with BCN came through the Bridge Café. After finding a home at the Bridge she quickly transitioned to volunteering within the youth and worship ministries at BCN while completing her BA in International Studies. After a short stint as an AmeriCorps volunteer, Alyssa returned to Dayton to join the staff at BCN in their mission to Be Hope. As the Pastor of Spiritual Formation, Alyssa desires to create space for authentic encounters with the Divine. Her desire is that those encounters would lead people to deeper truth, healing, and wholeness for the sake of our community, city, and world.
Alyssa’s interests include international development, social justice action and education, good coffee, peacemaking, DIYing, and thought provoking books. When she’s not busy earning her MA in Social Work, you might find her spending time in nature, listening to a podcast, or participating in an impromptu dance party. She collects maps and passport stamps.

JC Slone has served with passion, commitment, excellence….and humor as BCN’s Executive Administrator since October 1999. Business savvy and detail-oriented, JC oversees pastoral and support staff in daily functions and vision casting, oversees the facility and grounds, and manages all on-campus scheduling of activities.
Hailing from Hampton, VA, JC resides in Beavercreek with his wife, Sheila (Alpha Pastor), and two daughters, Morgan and Molly. He enjoys bike riding on the amazing bike paths throughout the community and Yellow Springs, cooking, reading (non-fiction only, please), watching movies, and playing sports. In fact, it’s a little-known fact that JC can juggle. When not at work or at least up at the church (which is rare), JC enjoys anywhere that it’s warm, there is sand between his toes, and the sound of the ocean can be heard.
Having graduated from Olivet Nazarene University in 2006, Kiesha accepted her first ministry assignment in Lansing, MI at South Church of the Nazarene as Pastor to Families with Children. She met Codi at SouthNaz and they were married in 2008 on the island of Maui. In 2013, she led a catalytic event for the city of Lansing, “I Love My City”. With the support of the mayor and the Church of Greater Lansing, this event was quickly adopted as a city wide serve day!
The Plasketts moved to Ohio in 2014 to be a part of BCN. And although Michigan still holds their heart, they’ve learned that Ohio isn’t as bad as ALL the jokes they’ve heard!
As the Pastor to Families with Children, Kiesha desires to teach kids that they can be hope to their neighbors and equip parents to be spiritual leaders in their child’s life.
Kiesha loves to spend time with her husband and their sweet little boy, Miles. She loves a good movie, an intriguing mystery, listening to Fall Out Boy on repeat, working in the yard, and a really great meal!

James is a veteran of the United States Air Force, and separated to take the job at BCN. He has two children, Marshall and Owen, who occupy most of his time (and patience!). He can recall nearly every moment from the TV show “The Office”, and will play any sport ever invented. Having zero musical talent, James plays no instruments or sings, but can hold his own beatboxing.
James loves 21 pilots, sushi, Thai food, driving with the windows down, and the best season of all, Fall. He is excited to partner with parents, leading their children through the roller coaster that is life.
