Sermon Title: “Everlasting Father”

December 16, 2018

Forward
For many of us the holiday season can feel rote and uninspired. We hang the same decorations and give the same gifts to the same people each year. We rarely feel amazed and we long for wonder. Our schedules are filled with things in the hope of renewing a sense of awe. But the feeling is fleeting. In this 4-week series (December 2-23) we’ll discover that wonder is not manufactured in a moment, but found in a person. Be amazed with who Jesus is and find yourself filled with wonder!

Title: “Everlasting Father”

Every boy, in his journey to become a man, takes an arrow in the center of his heart, in the place of his strength. Because the wound is rarely discussed and even more rarely healed, every man carries a wound. And the wound is nearly always given by his father. – John Eldredge, Wild at Heart

The greatest lesson a parent can teach a child is they know that they are not perfect.
