Sermon Title: “Leading Character”

Title: “Leading Character”
When you want what God wants God gives you exactly what you need.
You can be saved and equipped and still not have character.
For a story to be worth telling it must have a character that is worth following.
We judge a character based upon what they do.
Supplement: Something that completes or enhances something else when added to it.
You don’t form character by focusing on character, but by focusing on God.
Just like stories, our lives have context – circumstances that form the setting of our lives – and like many of those lead characters, we are often asleep to our greater context. Problems arise in our lives because we fail to see the significance of our context. But in 1 Peter 2:1-12 we are reminded of the greater context in which we find ourselves, a story of immense importance, with an ending that has already been written.
Questions for Reflection:
How would you describe your current context?
Have you had an awakening moment, where you realized how much your context matters in light of the greater story being told?
How might the realization that Act 3 has already been written effect the way you live in Act 2?
How might God be prompting you to reset your context this week?
