Title: “One Conversation from Calling”
- Lead like Lavar Ball
Heromakers don’t focus on self-esteem, they connect to a bigger cause. - Do not backpack carry a 72 month old
- Dog ate my homework
Heromakers don’t acknowledge excuses because they know if it’s significant it’s going to be hard.
- The uniqueness of your circumstances
- The urgency of the moment
The opportunity of a lifetime must be seized within the lifetime of that opportunity. – Leonard Ravenhill
While everyone wants a Mordecai, everyone needs to be a Mordecai
But we, like Esther (Esther 4), often shy away from our calling out of fear, or comfort. Or we miss the calling that is right in front of us because we are chasing something that isn’t for us. When we begin to see the meaningful work in front of us and surrender to God’s work in our lives, we step into our calling and we become hero makers, able to call out the potential in others as well.
Questions for Reflection:
What difference do you see between destiny and calling?
How do you react to the statement “you’re not special, but you’re called?”
Do you sense that you might need to start being a Mordecai, calling out the best in others? Perhaps an Esther, abandoning your excuses so that you can step into your calling? Maybe both?
Are you too consumed chasing the next thing to be able to see the calling that exists in your present reality?
What plans might you need to set aside or expand to seek out your calling?
